By offering a space for reflection on the future of the Francophonie in several Francophone regions around the world, this issue presents seven contributions linked by the theme of transculturality. This term stems from the concept of transculturation developed by the Cuban anthropologist and ethnologist Fernando Ortiz. It refers to the phenomenon of cultures meeting and merging. The notions of the transcultural and transculturality, by transgressing national and cultural boundaries, point to the concept of plural cultural identities. All these “diversities,” these “singularities,” these voices respond to a variety of expectations: thematic, formal, and ideological.
