Contemporary comics are the result of three revolutions: first, in content, which is no longer confined to humor; second, in medium, which has become the book; and third, in techniques, which are no longer reduced to colored drawings. To illustrate the integration of these metamorphoses into a unified artistic practice, we have chosen to analyze the work of Belgian artist Olivier Deprez, who combines comics, woodcuts and performance art, shaping the comics of tomorrow.
