Abstract

Dekobra appears in La Madone des Sleepings as a middlebrow author in his treatment of exotic adventures and illustrious characters intended to please a bestseller public together with a literary touch showing his cultural pretentions. Psychoanalysis is part of the material handled in this way, but the playful approach of the unconscious somewhere bears off to melancholy.
