Abstract

Swann is a fine connoisseur and a great aesthetician. But he also has a body that experiences suffering and pleasure. He absorbs the universe by his five senses. Swann is on the other side a man of dissemination, an aspect that Beckett examines exemplarily in his 1930 study on Proust.
