Abstract

Les Bijoux ravis (1984) by Benoît Peeters, a micro-reading in the style of S/Z of The Castafiore Emerald, is one of the studies that most clearly addressed the methodological issues and challenges of an informed reading of the comic book. The new edition of this essay, thoroughly revised and expanded, provides an opportunity to revisit these questions, whose significance extends beyond the realm of comics.
