This variation on Malevich has its origins in the Russian artist’s lithograph entitled Troïé. In this lithograph, a figure can be seen surmounting a comma, turning his back to the viewer and sinking into the white of the page. I used it as the motif for the booklet L’enterrement de Kazimir Malevitch.
